One full day tutorial and two half-day tutorials are planned for Thursday 8 July 2004. Continental breakfast and coffee breaks will be provided, as well as the materials needed for the sessions. Note details about the tutorials and the tutorial schedule below. Tutorial 1 - Join Dr. Patrick Jordan for a full day tutorial on July 8th titled "Designing Pleasurable Products - Beyond Usability". Dr. Jordan in an internationally renown design and marketing consultant, and is CEO of the Contemporary Trends Institute. He is the author of over 100 publications including six books, the most recent titled The Golden Rule published in 2004. Tutorial 2 (CANCELLED) - The efficient and effective internationalization of software and Web applications that match cultural expectations is key to participation in global markets. In a half day tutorial titled "Hitchhiker's Guide to Going Global", Tex Texin presents fundamentals of going global on the Internet. Tex is chief architect and globalization consultant for XenCraft. This morning tutorial is good preparation for the afternoon tutorial offered by Simon Laight (see below). Tutorial 3 - Building trust within globalization projects is crucial. In a half day workshop titled "Aligning your Warring Tribes: The Art of Managing Web Site Globalization Projects", Simon Laight leads participants to solutions for creating internal alignment across global offices. Mr. Laight was Managing Director of Ion Global in Japan for 11 years, and is now is responsible for the Vancouver office. Note: All tutorial rooms are on Level 3 of the hotel.
Tutorial Fees (in US$) Full-day tutorial fees includes continental breakfast, coffee breaks, and session and course materials. Half day tutorial fees include coffee breaks, and session and course materials. Note: The dinner cruise is not included. However, cruise tickets may be separately purchased for US$ 70 per person.
