Call for Papers

Potential contributors are invited to submit a one-to-two page abstract of the work to be presented before March 5, 1999 via email to Girish Prabhu (prabhu@kodak.com) or fax at 716-722-2246. The abstract should also include a brief list of references. The programme committee will review submissions and will notify the contributors before March 30, 1999.

Submissions might include, but are not limited to the following topics:

• Internationalization/localisation of software products
• Internationalization/localisation of web applications
• Internationalization/localisation of hardware products
• Processes for producing international products.
• Methodologies for the collection of international design data
• Methodologies for the evaluation of international products
• Addressing Cultural differences in product design
• Design of products for multilingual communities
• Using metaphors for international products
• Systems for adapting products
• Cultural attitudes towards technology
• Cultural bias and adaptation-Cultural diversity and unification
• Affect of technology on culture
• Electronic communication between multiple cultures
• Global Culture vs Local Culture on the Internet
• Technologies that enhance/aid the design of international products.
